For a long time, recurring tasks were the Achilles heel of Notion.
Notion is an excellent tool, but without a native solution for creating recurring tasks, it forced its users to develop complicated workarounds.
That sucked when you were using Notion as a task manager.
Thomas Frank even created a bot with Make.com to create recurring tasks in Notion.
Sure, some advanced power users probably joined him, but for the majority of Notioneers, Frank’s approach was just overkill.
The best solution I discovered was suggested by August Bradley in his famous Youtube series
Instead of marking a task as complete, August simply moved the date to a new recurring date.
Boom! This method worked, and I used it for almost 2 years. But the truth is, doing recurring tasks in Notion like that wasn’t satisfactory.
But on the 8th of November 2022 Notion finally released an update that included recurring tasks with repeating database templates.
Thank you, Notion! 🙏
If you’re already curious about how this feature works read my latest blog post::
How to create recurring tasks in Notion?
Speaking about task management in Notion. Pascio - who is one of the most creative Notion creators right now - recently published his new Task Architect Template for Notion.
There is of course no shortage of Task Management Templates. But when Pascio is creating something, you can be sure that he is not just copying existing concepts.
Pascio is excellent at thinking outside the box. Therefore, I was really curious to test his new template for my latest template review. Read the post by following the link below:

18 semi-controversial thoughts on the future
Last week I read George Mack’s 18 semi-controversial thoughts on the future for the first time. Few twitter threads achieve that, but George blew me away. Every thought is golden.
Read it for yourself:

I personally relate a lot with number 8, since I started my business by offering SEO services. In a way, I feel guilty because SEO destroyed Google search.
How?
In order to fight low-quality websites in the top results, Google is now biased towards big brands.
But this made it almost impossible for small bloggers with high-quality content but low brand value to be seen in the search results.
In the past, Google pretended that it is able to recognize the best content on the internet.
Truth is, it isn’t.
That leads me to the question of the day: How will web search look after Google? Will something like a search engine even exist? I am curious to read your answers (Please just reply to this mail)!
Until next time!
Philipp
